A PRAIRIE LANDS FOUNDATION PARK

Blog: This Week in the Woods

Very Successful Work Days
04.07.2012

A great day in Fugate Woods, and many thanks to the great group of folks who volunteered for the work days Friday and Saturday! Their stewardship is invaluable to the habitat. Two Boy Scout troops, One Girl Scout Troop, and 25 adult volunteers worked at removing invasive honeysuckle, and in the construction of a new boundary line fence.

All enjoyed lunch in the Gathering Grove on a splendid day under the prairie sky. Prairie Lands Foundation appreciates the many volunteer contributions of time, goods and efforts. All who are interested in the nature preserve are invited to become a part of the growing group of naturalists who serve as volunteers for Fugate Woods Nature Preserve, the Bluestem Trail, the James Family Woods and ALJ Path.

Plan to join in for the Fall workday scheduled for National Public Lands Day, September 29. Check out the calendar for details on coming events.
